Paul Ian Cabazag

Mr. Cabasag is a seasoned design and forensics engineer with 13 years of experience specializing in structural and fire protection systems. He is a licensed structural fire protection engineer, architect, data scientist, and real estate broker. In 2025, he will sit for CASp/CSA, IAAI-CFI, AJ, CRA/CGA, PI, and PLS exams.

Mr. Cabasag’s extensive educational background includes a MAS in Data Science Engineering from UCSD, an MS in Structural and Fire Protection Engineering from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, and a BS in Structural Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is currently pursuing a PhD at UCSD, as well as MBA, MRED, and MAcc degrees at USC, and MArch/MIArch degrees at CPP.

Throughout his career, he has focused on designing and inspecting buildings that withstand structural and thermal loads. His expertise spans multiple design disciplines, including wood/mass-timber, masonry, reinforced/prestressed concrete, structural/cold-formed steel, seismic, and wind design. In fire protection, his skills include fire modeling, structural fire engineering, wildfire mitigation, accessibility, and code consulting.

In forensic engineering, Mr. Cabasag investigates property loss from hazards such as fire, earthquakes, water damage, and vehicle impacts, as well as personal injury and boundary land surveying.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Cabasag is an active hiker, recreational tennis player, and travel enthusiast. He is deeply involved in philanthropy and has established non-profit ministries in churches nationwide. He is driven by the belief that hard work and faith lead to success, inspired by Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
